Using the private Chapel of Rest

Our modern Chapels of Rest have been designed to give privacy to those paying their last respects.

It is customary to visit the Chapel of Rest the day before the funeral. On arrival at our premises, a member of staff will guide you through to the Chapel and having seen that everything is satisfactory will retire. However, if you feel you would be more comfortable if they remain, they will of course do so.

We have three viewing chapels, and the choice of which to use is yours. You do not have to use the Chapel at the branch where the arrangements are made.

Traditionally, the deceased would have been taken home the night before the funeral so that family and friends can pay their last respects. Although this is rarely done today, it is not beyond a reasonable request and we are happy to conform if required.
